Radial Arm Saws
How it works
For most radial arm saw operations, the stock is secured to the table and
the saw cuts from above. The power head hangs from an arm and is pulled
across the work by the operator. Because the blade rotates in the same
direction that the power head is fed, the operator should have control when
the machine is on to prevent the blade from "walking" across the stock.
Most radial arm saws come equipped with blade guards and anti kickback
devices. These should be used at all times and checked periodically.
